Amicable separation – we agree on most things, what’s involved in drawing up and mediating a legal settlement?

If most things are agreed to, we can either write to your former partner or their lawyer or organise a mediation to negotiate and resolve any outstanding issues amicably.

Once a final agreement is reached between you and your former partner in relation to all issues we need to formalise this agreement in writing.

You can formalise any agreement reached between you and your former partner by way of lodging an Application for Consent Orders with the Family Court or by entering into a Binding Financial Agreement.

Both of these documents have their own benefits and drawbacks. We will provide you with advice on what is most appropriate for your case when it becomes necessary.
